What are Prebiotics and its benefits?
Prebiotics are special plant fibers that feed the good bacteria in our gut. Prebiotics are carbs (AKA Resistant Starch) that our bodies can’t digest, so they go straight to our large intestine, where they act like fertilizers to help the good bacteria grow. A healthy microbiome supports the immune system, aids digestion, and strengthens hair, skin and nails.
What prebiotics are used in Malua bites?
Malua Bites contain green banana flour prebiotic, the world’s richest source of resistant starch.
What is Green Banana flour?
Green banana flour is a gluten free, low sugar flour made from unripe bananas (not to be confused with Plantains!). The green bananas are peeled, sliced, dehydrated, and then milled to form a flour. Green banana flour is a source of resistant starch also known as functional fiber.
What are the benefits of Green Banana flour?
The resistant starch in the green banana flour “resists” digestion in the small intestine (it does not break down into sugars) and then reaches the large intestine where it is fermented. The byproduct of this fermentation is believed to lower blood sugar levels, help you feel more satiated, lower pH levels and help reduce cell damage.
Green banana flour also has prebiotic effects. It selectively feeds the good bacteria in the gut, powering a healthy microbiome and helping support the immune system, aiding digestion, and strengthening hair, skin and nails.
How long can I enjoy Malua bites once I open the pouch?
